Most Promising U.S. Cities in 2022: Boise is #1

Coming in at number 1, Boise recently ranked higher than 90% of the country for job and high-tech GDP growth and reported some of the lowest unemployment and property crime rates for the metro areas on this list. Get all the details (and see what other cities made the list) here.

Focusing on people’: Zoning rewrite proposal shrinks parking minimums, lot sizes, adds neighborhood protections

The City Boise just rolled out the second part of its proposal to revamp its zoning code. This second rollout includes changes that couple with those released last year, which included consolidating zones, adding mixed-use designations and allowing duplexes, triplexes and townhomes on residential parcels. This new effort includes new guidelines for parking, density, development and design standards for new developments across the city of Boise. Check out   all the details here

Idaho is Among the Nation's Job Growth Leaders (but it's not all rosy)

While many analysts are predicting a very positive economic future for Idaho, there are certainly some challenges that accompany the rapid growth we have (and continue to) experience. On a positive note, according to the state department of labor, Idaho led the nation in job growth coming out of the pandemic (with a jobless rate of just 2.6% compared to the national average of 4.2%). Ever Wonder how Redfish Lake got its Name?

Tucked into the base of the Sawtooth Mountains, Redfish Lake is a "must" for outdoor lovers and recreationalists. What you might not know is how it got its name... In a nutshell, the beautiful lake got it's name for a pretty basic reason (and one that we'd guess your average elementary student would predict) - the bright right color of the Sockeye Salmon who call the lake home. While their numbers have unfortunately dwindled since it received its name, the Idaho Fish & Game released over 1,100 hatchery adults this past fall. Check out this article for all the details

Movin' in: Idaho Among Top 10 Most Popular Destinations

According to a recent U-Haul report, Idaho ranked in the top 10 most popular places to move throughout 2021. Which, for those of us on the ground, certainly isn't a surprise. According to this KTVB article, Gregory Spurlock, Senior Area Field Manager for the Boise U-Haul, is quoted as saying he expects Idaho (and the need for his company's services) to continue to grow.
