

Micron's Groundbreaking $15 Billion Plant

A few weeks ago Micron broke ground on a $15 billion memory manufacturing fabrication plant. And then (just a couple of days ago) they announced they are also kicking off an additional $20 billion fab based in Onondaga County, New York that will be "the size of 40 US football fields and is expected to provide close to 50,000 jobs for the region, including 9,000 high paying Micron jobs.” Here's a great BoiseDev article that outlines incentives, housing, transit, water, etc.

The rebate is $300 for individual filers and $600 for joint filers or 10% of your 2020 income taxes (whichever is greater). Curious to track yours, there is now a handy tracking tool available. This past summer it was announced that Ada County received an offer to lease Expo Idaho'sTurf Club (which overlooks the currently abandoned racetrack at Les Bois Park) for off-track betting. According to this BoiseDev article, a Las Vegas company called Midnight Racing is hoping to add the Turf Club to its list of 15 off-track betting facilities. As of now, it doesn't sound like Ada County Commissioners have made a decision & are waiting for various repairs to be completed before a final call is made. Learn More Here >

According to their Grand Opening Facebook event, Voodoo Brews will have "8K TVs, a custom hardwood beer pong table, a jukebox, and gaming on consoles & arcade machines, all in a macabre, softly purple-lit Voodoo lounge... a Voodoo-themed cocktail menu, and dozens of other adult beverages". Previously planned to kickoff this past January (delayed due to COVID), the new route deemed Route 30 Pine will provide connections between The Village, Ten Mile Crossing & downtown Meridian. To celebrate their first month, they are offering free rides all through the month of October.
