Located more than 500 miles from the Pacific Ocean, it surprises most to learn that our ever-evolving city offers surfing opportunities. This CNN article highlights the Boise Whitewater Park, which has a man-made adjustable wave-shaper that surfers and kayakers enjoy taking full advantage of. Idaho River Sports instructor Jayne Saunders explained the shear appeal of the park's location saying "A lot of people...on their one-hour lunch break, will hop on their bike, ride down the Greenbelt path along the river, come down to the surf wave and surf for forty minutes and go back to work!".
